As the actor never hesitates in speaking against the wrong, he took to his social media to call out a tweet spreading fake rumours on social media.
On Twitter, Varun Dhawan reacted to a tweet made by a user, claiming that he was director Hansal Mehta’s first choice to play Harshad Mehta’s role in web series Scam 1992. The tweet made by the social media user read, “Did you know? #VarunDhawan was the first choice to play the iconic role of #HarshadMehta in Scam 1992. Later director Hansal Mehta suggested #PratikGandhi and the rest is history.” The user claimed that while Varun was the first choice to play Harshad Mehta in Scam 1992, because of director Hansal Mehta’s suggestion, Pratik Gandhi landed up bagging the role. Reacting to the tweet, Varun Dhawan re-tweeted and wrote, “Really not true I think the only choice for this show can be #pratikgandhi absolutely brilliant he is. big fan #scam 1992.” The actor said that the report is ‘really not true’ and mentioned how he thinks the only choice for it can be Pratik Gandhi.
